Registering with the State

Registration is simple.

  • Call Child Care Resource & Referral at 1-800-559-5878 and sign up to attend a Family Child Care Overview Session. At this session you will be given all of the forms and information regarding the registration process.
  • Complete the mandatory training requirements of First Aid, Infant Child CPR, Food Handler Certification and Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect.
  • Complete registration and Criminal History Registry Forms and mail them to the Child Care Division along with a non-refundable fee.
  • Once the Child Care Division processes your application, they will assign a Family Child Care Specialist to meet with you in your home. The specialist will conduct an on-site health and safety review. The review will ensure that the provider is in compliance with the rules related to health, safety and sanitation.

  • Possible discount on fees for child care training classes.
  • Possible eligibility for or discount on insurance coverage.
