In order to develop a quality comprehensive child development program, we believe it is necessary to address a child’s total learning environment to include health, social, emotional, cognitive and physical development, inclusive of children with differing abilities.
Umatilla-Morrow Head Start, Inc. participates in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program. Each class day, Head Start and Early Head Start children receive balanced meals and snacks that include a wide variety of wholesome foods based on the CACFP required meal components.
Your child’s health status has a great influence on how they are able to learn and participate in their educational experiences. Head Start Performance Standards ensure a quality program which include a requirement to complete health screens.
Umatilla Morrow Head Start strives to create conditions where young children with social emotional concerns and their families, have the necessary supports to succeed, while at the same time promoting positive mental health, emotional well-being, social competence and resilience for all children and preventing the onset of emotional problems.
